The May 25, 2016, NIH training grant submission requires a new set of data tables. M-Train has not been
modified to reflect the changes. M-Train will produce NIH Table 2, 3 and 4
when you bring your participating faculty list up-to-date in M-Train. However, Table 4 is not in the correct
format and requires additional data.
Pending grants are no longer shown in M-Train since they are not included in new NIH Table 4.
For table 8, Program Outcomes, the NIH x-TRACT web application may be used to enter the information
instead of entering the data into the Word template. The support data for pre-docs and post-docs for
Table 8 are available.

send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
with the title of your training grant and the sponsor
award number. It is most helpful if you can identify the trainees with a list of either emplids or
How do I get access to a Training Grant in M-Train?
Contact the training grant administrator to get access.
How do I give administrative access?
- Scroll to the bottom of the "Training Grant Info" page, click the
"Add Administrator Access" button
- Search for the user name and give either Administrative or Other Support access. (Both access types
give full read and write access to the training grant.)
How do I remove a Participating Faculty from my training grant?
- Click on the name of a participating faculty member to dispaly the "Faculty Info" page.
- Click on "Training Grant Participation" link.
- From the list of training grants, click on the "X" to remove faculty from the training grant.
This resource is available to any training grant at the University of
Michigan. The application provides a workspace for each training grant
to collect information from participating faculty mentors and their trainees and
to generate Tables 2, 3 and 4.
Information can be entered/edited by training grant directors,
