Celina G. Kleer, M.D. My laboratory is devoted to the discovery and validation of biomarkers of breast cancer prognosis. To this end, we are studying two pathways that are important for breast cancer initiation and metastasis. These pathways are driven by EZH2 and CCN6 (WISP3). EZH2 functions as an oncogene and CCN6 as a tumor suppressor gene. We employ cellular and molecular biology, mouse models, and human breast tissues to study their contribution to breast tumorigenesis.
